Privacy Policy

This notice describes how the personal data of visitors to herohubs.it is processed, pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

Data controller

The data controller is Ranieri Vannozzi, freelance software developer and consultant, Italian VAT number 02103710477, who can be contacted at info@herohubs.it. HeroHubs is the name of the blog and is not a separate legal entity.

Technical browsing data. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub Inc. To keep the service running and secure, GitHub logs some technical data about each request, including the visitor’s IP address. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in keeping the site available and protected from abuse. This processing is described in GitHub’s privacy statement.

Visit statistics. Only if you accept it in the cookie banner, the site uses Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited, to collect aggregate statistics about visits, such as the pages viewed, where visitors come from, the type of device and the approximate location. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. The legal basis is consent, which you can refuse or withdraw at any time from the cookie policy. Data is kept for the period set in Google Analytics, no longer than 14 months. Google LLC participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which makes the transfer of data to the United States adequate.

Emails. If you write to info@herohubs.it, the data controller processes your email address and whatever you choose to share in order to reply to your request. The legal basis is taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, or the legitimate interest in replying. Messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the request and any professional relationship that follows from it.

What the site does not do

The site has no registration or contact forms, does not use profiling or advertising cookies and does not share data with third parties for commercial purposes. Fonts are served directly by the site and not by Google Fonts, so simply reading the pages does not send any request to Google unless you have consented to statistics.

Articles and pages contain links to third-party sites, such as LinkedIn or the documentation of the products discussed. Once opened, those sites process data according to their own privacy notices.

Your rights

Under Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR you can request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can withdraw your consent to statistics at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. To exercise your rights, write to info@herohubs.it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, www.garanteprivacy.it.

This notice may be updated, for example if the services used by the site change. The version in force is always the one published on this page.
